I'm learning move about shooting with digital video. I'm also finding the Macbook a wonderful for editing and uploading. I've had no problems with my Macbook recognizing my Canon HG10.
Here's a brief video that I made in iMovies. I took about 5 short videos and cropped and edited them together ... very easy in iMovies:
HG10 + WD-H43 Initial Test from Tim Warneka on Vimeo.
I am starting to see the limitations of iMovies though. iMovies is fine for home movies, but I'm discovering that I'm going to have to upgrade to more powerful software for creating professional productions. Apparently, a previous version of iMovies (iMovies 06) has more powerful features than the current version (iMovies 08), causing some distress in the Apple community.
I'm still very happy with what my Macbook can do.
